Start with an interface register

A float-equipment quotation can contain individually identifiable parts without describing a compatible cementing assembly. Review the boundaries between parts before comparing package prices. The objective is a coordinated document set for the responsible technical reviewer, not instructions for running casing, bumping plugs or drilling out the shoe track.

Draw the proposed assembly and assign an identifier to each interface: casing-to-collar, casing-to-shoe, bottom-plug-to-seat, top-plug-to-bottom-plug and plug-to-cementing-head. Keep the shoe and collar as separate line items even when one supplier offers both. Record the required function at each boundary and the document that will establish it. A generic compliance statement cannot answer every interface.

Freeze the casing basis before reviewing threads

Create a controlled casing schedule listing nominal size, weight, grade, connection identity and the relevant ID or drift requirement. Identify changes along the string instead of attaching only a cover sheet naming the largest diameter. Ask the bidder which part is proposed for each schedule line and require any coverage limits to remain visible.

For each connection, request the exact designation, pin/box arrangement and drawing revision. The Zhongshi collar table lists FCBCCTNR140 with 160 mm OD, 500 mm catalogue length and 36 kg mass, but leaves the thread as API / Premium Thread. The dimensions identify a reference row; they do not turn that menu into a particular connection or a defined made-up length.

If an alternative connection is proposed, treat it as a design change with an owner and an issued drawing. Do not silently accept it because the collar's nominal casing size matches the schedule. Likewise, a listed ID interval is not a substitute for the manufacturer's casing-weight coverage and assembled passage assessment.

Review the plug chain independently

Use a second part of the register for the plug system. Zhongshi's non-rotating plug explanation describes interlocking profiles at both the bottom-plug/float-equipment and top-plug/bottom-plug boundaries. It provides no named plug part number paired with the cited collar. Therefore, keep compatibility unresolved until the offered plug set and seat are identified together.

Entire drill-out stackShoe, collar, seat and plugsMaterials schedule and bit compatibility reviewA family-level drillable claim replaces configuration evidence

Give each row a responsible party, document revision and unresolved question. In a fictional bid, a correct casing connection is supplied with an unnamed non-rotating plug set. Accept the connection document for review, but leave the plug interfaces open. Do not promote the whole package to technically accepted because one row is complete.

Separate qualification from operational settings

Request separate evidence for forward-flow endurance, valve reverse-pressure capability, plug landing capability and any bottom-plug diaphragm requirement. Ask which configuration and conditions each report covers. Do not reinterpret a web table's unqualified pressure column as all of these limits, or derive field pressure settings from it.

The API 2023 Publications Catalog, printed page 21, lists Spec 10F, Cementing Float Equipment Testing, fourth edition, July 2018, including two May 2020 errata. This verifies a testing-and-marking reference, not the selected parts' qualification. Ask the contract owner to confirm the applicable edition and amendments, then request the relevant configuration-specific evidence. Catalogue inclusion is not a product certificate.

Close the drill-out and delivery records

Request an identified materials schedule for every component remaining in the drill-out path, the intended bit basis and the maker's limitations for that combination. Keep any proposed acceptance evidence distinct from a promised drill-out duration. A drawing change affecting a seat, internal material or plug profile should reopen the corresponding register rows. Field execution remains the responsibility of qualified personnel under approved procedures.

Before order release, reconcile the quotation, drawings, matching confirmation, inspection plan and packing list against one bill of materials. Product mass is not packed shipment mass; request packing dimensions and confirmed gross weights separately.

Use the float shoes, collars and cementing plugs reference for the retained collar rows. Submit the interface register and outstanding documents through the RFQ Builder. Ask bidders to price identified exceptions rather than hide them within a package description.
